This is an easy breakfast recipe which has tangier and spicier taste.
Ingredients:
- 5-6 bread slices
- 1 cup plain yogurt/dahi
- ¼ cup chopped onions
- Chopped cilantro
- 1 green chili
- Salt
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper powder
- Olive oil
- For tempering: Ghee or oil, 1 tsp mustard seeds, finely chopped garlic (3-4 cloves)
Method:
- Whisk dahi and add chopped onion, cilantro, finely cut green chili, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, black pepper powder
- Mix well and keep it aside
- In a small pan, add ghee or oil and heat it
- Add mustard seeds and let them pop
- Add finely chopped garlic and saute until it changes color
- Add this tempering to dahi mixture
- Mix well
- Take a pan, grease it with oil or spray it
- Take one bread slice at a time, dip it into the dahi mixture
- Make sure both sides are coated well with the dahi mixture
- Add it to the heated pan
- Cook until the underside is lightly browned
- Flip it with a spatula and cook until the other side is browned
- Transfer the toast to a plate
- Cook all remaining bread slices in similar way
- Enjoy tangier and spicier dahi toasts!
