Masala pasta is an Indian-Italian fusion dish. It can be customized your own way.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups elbow raw pasta
- 4-5 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- ½ cup frozen green peas
- ½ cup frozen sweet corn
- 1 can chickpeas
- ½ cup chopped tomato
- Salt
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Pinch of sugar
Method:
- Boil water in a big pot
- Add oil and salt
- Once the water boils, add pasta to it
- Cook for 8-9 minutes until pasta cooks well (not mushy)
- Drain in a colander and keep the cooked pasta aside
Take a pan, add oil, and heat it
- Add garlic pieces and saute until they turn golden
- Add chopped onions and saute until they turn translucent
- Add peas and corn and let them cook for 1 minute
- Then add chickpeas and mix
- Lastly add chopped tomatoes
- Cook covered on medium heat for 2 minutes
- Once tomato gets soft, add salt, chili powder, garam masala, lemon juice, sugar, turmeric powder
- Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes
- Mix it with cooked and drained pasta
- Serve hot and enjoy!
