Masala Pasta


Masala pasta is an Indian-Italian fusion dish. It can be customized your own way.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups elbow raw pasta
  • 4-5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • ½ cup frozen green peas
  • ½ cup frozen sweet corn
  • 1 can chickpeas
  • ½ cup chopped tomato

  • Salt
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of sugar

Method:

  • Boil water in a big pot
  • Add oil and salt
  • Once the water boils, add pasta to it

  • Cook for 8-9 minutes until pasta cooks well (not mushy)
  • Drain in a colander and keep the cooked pasta aside

Take a pan, add oil, and heat it

  • Add garlic pieces and saute until they turn golden
  • Add chopped onions and saute until they turn translucent
  • Add peas and corn and let them cook for 1 minute
  • Then add chickpeas and mix
  • Lastly add chopped tomatoes
  • Cook covered on medium heat for 2 minutes
  • Once tomato gets soft, add salt, chili powder, garam masala, lemon juice, sugar, turmeric powder
  • Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes
  • Mix it with cooked and drained pasta
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
