Coconut Chutney


This chutney goes well with dosa, uttapam, or upma. It is very easy to make. I always use grated frozen coconut. You can use fresh coconut if you want.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • ¼ cup roasted peanuts
  • 1 tbs roasted chana dal (phutane)
  • ½ cup yogurt/curd
  • Salt
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • ¼ cup cilantro

Method:

  • Take all the ingredients and make a coarse paste. Adjust the salt.
  • Add tempering over it: Take some oil, heat it. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing (optional), curry leaves (optional) and add this tempering over the chutney and serve it with dosa, uttapam, etc.
