Asparagus is a bright green veggie packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals like vitamins A, C, E, K, and B6, as well as folate, iron, copper, calcium, protein, and fiber. It helps regulate blood sugar levels, making it beneficial for people with diabetes.
This pan-fried asparagus is simply seasoned with salt, ground black pepper, lime-pepper powder and olive oil for a delicious Italian-style side dish. Garlic powder or fresh minced garlic can be used. The ends of asparagus can be unpleasantly tough and woody. To remove those parts, sharply bend the asparagus near the base. The asparagus will snap in the right place.
