Cabbage-Moong Dal Curry


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chopped cabbage
  • 1 cup Moong dal
  • 4-5 Green chili pieces
  • 1 fistful of curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • Salt
  • Jaggery (optional)
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice

Method:

  • Chop cabbage thinly, wash, and drain it
  • Keep it aside
  • Cut green chilies into long pieces
  • Take a pan, add oil, and heat it
  • Add mustard and cumin seeds and let them crackle
  • Add green chili and then curry leaves
  • Then add cabbage as well as moong dal
  • Mix well

  • Add turmeric powder and cover it with a lid
  • Once the water starts depositing on under the surface of the lid, add water
  • Mix well and cook the mixture while stirring intermittently
  • Once moong dal turns soft, add red chili powder, salt, lemon juice, and jaggery
  • Cook it for another 1-2 minutes and turn off the stove.
