Vermicelli Pudding


Vermicelli pudding (kheer) is a delicious Indian dessert made with vermicelli, milk, sugar, and dry fruits. Other names for Vermicelli are semiya, seviya or shevaya.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup thin vermicelli
  • 1 tbs ghee
  • 2 ½ cup milk
  • Sugar as per taste
  • 1 tbs Sooji/semolina (optional)
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • Raisins, cashew, almond pieces
  • Saffron (optional)

Method:

  • Heat ghee in a cooking pot.
  • Add dry fruits and roast them well
  • Add vermicelli and Sooji to it and roast until it changes color
  • You can directly buy roasted Vermicelli too
  • Add milk and cook it while stirring until vermicelli turns soft
  • Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron (if you are planning to add)
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes and turn off the flame
  • Serve either hot or cold
