White Sauce Pasta

White sauce pasta is simply cooked pasta mixed with a silky-smooth white sauce, broccoli, spinach, mushrooms, and garlic, seasoned with Italian herbs, and topped with red chili flakes.

White sauce can be made easily at home with butter, all-purpose flour, and milk. Melt 2 tbsp butter in a pan over low heat. Add 2 tbsp all-purpose flour into the melted butter. Cook over low heat, stirring, for a full 2 minutes to minimize the taste of the flour. It should become thick and bubbly. Turn up the heat slightly, then slowly add 1 cup of milk, stirring constantly. Bring to a low simmer and continue cooking slowly until the white sauce is smooth and thickened, about 10 minutes.

I used store-bought four-cheese Alfredo sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups pasta
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 cup chopped spinach
  • ½ cup mushrooms

  • 1 cup broccoli
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1 tsp oregano leaves
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • White sauce bottle

Method:

  • Boil water in a big pot
  • Add oil and salt
  • Once the water boils, add pasta to it
  • Cook for 8-9 minutes until pasta cooks well (not mushy)
  • Drain in a colander and keep the cooked pasta aside

  • Take a pan, add butter, and heat it
  • Add garlic pieces and saute until they turn golden
  • Add spinach, broccoli, and mushroom
  • Saute them until slightly tender yet crunchy

  • Add white sauce, red chili flakes, pepper powder, salt, and oregano seasoning to the vegetables
  • Mix well
  • Optional: add grated cheese and mix well
  • Turn off the stove after 2 minutes
  • Lastly, add cooked pasta, mix and serve.
