Schezwan fried rice


This is a very simple recipe and leftover rice can be used to make it. Schezwan sauce is a uniquely flavorsome, delicious, hot, and spicy sauce made with red chilies, garlic, and soy sauce. I use the ready-made sauce. You can make it at home if you want.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 tbs Schezwan chili-garlic sauce
  • 1 tsp oil
  • Mustard seeds ½ spoon
  • Cumin seeds ½ spoon
  • Onion- 1 medium
  • Salt
  • (optional)- mixed vegetables and or eggs if you like.

Method:

  • Cut onion into long slices or pieces.
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard, cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  • Add onion and sauté until golden.
  • Add sauce and then rice. Mix it well. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add salt.
  • Serve hot.
