This is the dry spice powder made with roasted peanuts. It stays good for 1-2 months.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups raw peanuts
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1-2 tsp red chili powder
- Salt
Method:
- Take a thick bottom pot. Add peanuts and roast them until they have spots.
- Let them cool down.
- No need to remove the skin.
- Grind garlic, cumin seeds, peanuts, red chili powder, and salt to a coarse powder.
- After 30 minutes, transfer it to an air-tight container.
- It can be used in many different ways: Eat with hot rice, and ghee or mix it with plain yogurt (curd) and use it as an instant chutney for idli/dosa. My children like it on bread-butter toast or on bagel-cream cheese.
