Masala milk is a milk recipe that has nuts, dried seeds, and some spices added to it. It has several health benefits in addition to taste, smell, nutrients, and enriched flavor.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk
- ¼ cup cashews
- 5-6 almonds
- 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds (optional)
- 2-3 cardamom
- 5-6 saffron threads
- Pinch of turmeric powder (optional)
- 2 tbsp Milk powder
- Sugar as per your taste
Method:
This masala milk can be made in different ways:
- You can soak almonds and cashews for 1 hour and then grind them to paste and add them to the milk.
- You can make a dry powder (without soaking or roasting) of nuts and seeds and add it to milk.
- You can use store-bought readymade powder.
- Here I am giving a recipe for roasting and grinding nuts.
- Dry roast almonds, cashews, pumpkin seeds, and cardamom seeds on low heat for 1-2 minutes until they change color and cardamom leaves the aroma. Cool them and grind to a powder and keep them aside.
- Take a pan, add milk and bring it to boil
- Take milk powder in a small bowl, add cold milk and make a thin paste
- Add this paste to boiling milk
- Then add the nuts/seeds powder, sugar, turmeric powder, and saffron threads
- Mix well and let it thicken a little bit
- Turn off the stove
- Serve the thick masala milk hot or chilled.
