Jowar Puffs (Lahya) Chivda


Jowar puffs are nutritious and healthy to digest. This is a quick and yummy snack recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 400 gms jowar (sorghum) puffs
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 cup raw peanuts
  • ½ cup puffed chana dal
  • 7-8 dried red chilies
  • Curry leaves

  • 8-9 garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt

  • 1 tbs cumin powder
  • 1 tbs coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tsp turmeric powder

Method:

  • Make course paste of garlic cloves
  • Take a pan, add oil and heat it
  • Add mustard and cumin seeds and let them crackle
  • Add raw peanuts and roasted chana daal and fry them until peanuts change color
  • Add garlic paste, red chilies and curry leaves

  • Once garlic changes color, add red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and salt
  • Mix well and turn off the stove
  • Once the mixture cools down, mix it well with jowar puffs until puffs coat well with the mixture
  • This recipe stays good for a month
