My mother used to make this dish with leftover plain cooked dal. Eventually, it became one of the popular dishes for my family and now I have to cook plain dal just to make this dish.😊
Ingredients:
- Plain cooked toor dal
- Indian mango pickle
- Onion
- Curry leaves
- Coriander
- Oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
Method:
- Cut onions into cubes
- Take a pot, add oil, and heat it
- Add mustard and cumin seeds and let them crackle
- Add onions and curry leaves
- Fry until onions become translucent
- Add cooked dal and pickle to it and mix well
- The amount of pickle depends on the spiciness of pickle.
- Add water for desired consistency
- Add chopped cilantro
- Cook this mixture until oil starts separating
- Spices from the mango pickle make it very tasty.
- It can be served with roti or hot rice.
